1. Does it help with hot flashes?

Yes, this product is Doctor recommended to reduce the profuse sweating accompanied by hot flashes in both severity and duration.

2.Will the ChiliPad work with a Tempur-pedic or other memory foam mattress?

Yes, the ChiliPad covering was designed to stretch at the same rate as the most common mattress. Heat activated visco-elastic foam will still provide the supportive benefit, but without the heat buildup.

3. Does the heated mattress pad/cooling mattress pad take the place of the regular mattress pad or can you put the heated/cooling mattress pad over the regualar pad?

We still recommend a mattress protector be placed between the mattress and the ChiliPad to protect the mattress warranty. In rare cases (temperature differences of greater than 30F) the ChiliPad can experience some condensation buildup near the circulation tubes.

4.Can it be used in a boat, camper or semi truck?

The ChiliPad is a great solution to heat/ cool your mattress in a boat, camper or semi.

5. What type of water should be used?

Standard potable water can be used. If you are in an area with hard water or higher levels of sediment we suggest using distilled water.

6. How do you clean the water or avoid sediment buildup?

A tablespoon of vinegar can be added each time the water is refilled, or a waterbed water conditioner can be used. We recommend Blue Magic, but all major brands will work.

7  Can the ChiliPad be set to come on and off?

Yes, the ChiliPad's timer is set by increment of hours.  If you like, the sleep timer works for automatic on/off.

8. Will the ChiliPad automatically maintain the set temperature?

Yes, when the power is turned on, the ChiliPad will return to the last set temperature.

10.  What is the wattage of the unit in its cooling and heating mode?

Control unit uses up to 150 watts at peak and about 80 watts under normal use. Requires 110 V power supply.  ETL approved.

11. Can the ChiliPad be used in a country where the energy is 220V?

Yes it can, but it must be switched at the factory.  When you order, notify us immediately in a separate e-mail or call our toll free number.

It will take 2 weeks longer to ship, since it is not in stock, but coming direct from the factory.

Since there is no standard voltage in the world, if traveling from country to country, you will need an adaptor.

12.  What is the range of the remote controls? 

 The RF remote allows for  long distances ( easily from one side of a room to the other).

13.  What is the warranty?

Yes, it is machine washable using a front load machine.  Dry on low heat setting.

16.  What is the fiber content?

The ChiliPad is made of 150 thread count poly cotton fabric, with polyester filling.  The circulation tubes are medical grade silicon.

It will  not be punctured by animal claws, or under normal human use.

18. How much noise does it make?

The noise level is very low.   The only audible components are a fan that is similar to a desktop computer, and a water pump that contributes as much noise as a small aquarium pump. The noise typically becomes part of the rooms ambient noise within two weeks, similar to an air conditioning unit.

19. What is the weight range? 

Suggested weight  range is 500 lbs per zone.  With higher weight ranges, the control unit may not reach the min/max temperatures but would still provide cooling and heating benefits.
